Communication is the key, a consultation is necessary, if you are having a complete restyle, tell the receptionist when you book, that way you've got enough time to talk to your hairdresser and they won't have to rush.
Don't turn up late and expect your stylist to perform miracles in half the time they usually need.
Don't feel embarrassed to say you don't know what you want, your stylist is there to make suggestions and give advice.
Bring in a photo as a guide of what you like but be realistic. A Star's hair type might be different and the maintenance might involve a two hour blow dry. Be prepared to compromise.
If you are at all unsure, don't go for a major overhaul in one sitting, make gradual changes over a few cuts.
